Project name: Master Resume
Project description:
What started as a simple portfolio turned into something much bigger once I realized how useful it was to have all my career data in one place. It helped me build better resumes, prep for interviews, and shape my personal brand. I built the project using vs-code, next.js, Directus, and the Directus MCP server, then added MCP integration into the frontend as a chatbot. That gave me the ability to generate tailored resumes, run interview prep sessions, and add accomplishments and skills whenever I needed. I’m releasing this as a Directus template and I’m excited to see how the community uses it and builds on it.
Challenge entered:
- Build a project with Directus using the MCP.
- Build a community template, using the MCP.

Starting point details:
The project started as a simple portfolio site and eventually grew into a full career and project management system. Development moved quickly thanks to the Directus MCP server. I started with the client-side MCP setup inside of vs-code and later switched to the remote MCP server once it was released. The chatbot now uses that server to add and query content. If you want to try the system yourself, the full launch instructions are available at GitHub - JayShoe/master-resume .
