I want to showcase a project I am working on during the mcp-hackathon
For a few years now I have toyed and prototyped a few different iterations of a platform that could help gamers find developers and for developers to find meaningful projects to work on.
This evolved a few times and the idea laid dormant for another 2 years. Now with the advent of good AI models and with the introduction of MCP into Directus I knew it was a good time to go ahead and work on my idea once again. With the carrot at the end of the stick sort of speak being the mcp-hackathon to drive me forward.
So… what is Embro exactly?
Embro is the platform I’ve always wanted to exist: a place where players can share game ideas, developers can claim, share or find meaningful work, and teams can form around the sparks that excite them. It brings structure to creativity through boards, claims, tasks, and collaboration tools, all wrapped in a system designed to turn concepts into shipped projects.
With AI and Directus MCP powering the backbone, Embro aims to make modding and game development more accessible, organized, and inspiring.

Team Details:
Just myself with the introduction of a friend to help work on Unreal Engine integration for project task tracking and more.
Technical Details:
VS Code used with Cline
MCP integration into Claude Desktop
**Models used:**
ChatGPT 5.1 - For help with discussion of schema and generating markdowns for Claude to ingest.
Claude Sonnet 4.5 - Integrated directly with Directus via MCP to create and validate schema, relations and flows.
**Starting Point Details:**
I am a Nuxt person at heart. So, I started with a fresh Nuxt frontend and a fresh deployment of Directus for my backend.
I already knew my idea by heart and knew where it should go so, I started work creating phases for schema creation and relations in the backend and started working with Claude and MCP to realize it in very fast and efficient manner.
Once we were up and running:
- I would create and work on collections and relations with ChatGPT to create and validate
- Feed this into Claude and MCP to create the new collections and fields needed along with relations and flows
Using MCP allowed me to quickly create a project that would normally take months or even years in less than 15 days to hit an MVP. Oh and everything is powered with Directus real-time!
