I’ve been exploring Directus recently and gave the visual editing experience a try. I’ve always appreciated how the WordPress ecosystem handles visual editing — especially with inline, drag-and-drop builders like Elementor or the block editor. It feels very seamless and “what you see is what you get.”
When I tried the visual editing tools in Directus, I noticed the experience was quite different.
That said, I’m curious:
Has anyone tried to implement true inline visual editing with Directus? Something similar to what you’d get with WordPress page builders?
Are there any existing approaches, extensions, or workflows to enable this?
Has anyone combined Directus with a frontend framework to simulate inline editing?
Is this something on the roadmap?
Would love to hear your thoughts, ideas, or even see examples if you’ve built anything close!
