Is it possible (or planned) to add custom metadata to field definitions? As an example, I’d like to add a “searchable” flag to a text input field and when I pull the field definition in the frontend, I could filter for my custom flag and build a search mask from that.

It’s not currently possible. The columns we track per field themselves aren’t managed in the database and are thus not editable. I’ve made a note of your comment in our feature requests. Thanks!
i also need this feature, if this feature is visible for all interface, it is helpful to extra metadata for field data model.
