Just Getting Started, Already Amazed by Directus

I’ve only just started using Directus, and I’m genuinely blown away by what it enables. I’m building a Notion-style app with support for self-hosted video content, essentially combining a personal knowledge base with a YouTube-like experience.

As someone with limited programming experience, Directus has completely transformed how I approach backend development. It removes so much of the complexity and boilerplate, letting me focus on building features instead of wrestling with infrastructure. Now, the only code I’m really writing is in Next.js, and even that feels more manageable thanks to how cleanly Directus integrates.

This platform has unlocked a whole new level of creative freedom for me. Huge thanks to the Directus team for making something so powerful and accessible!

Thank you for the warm welcome, I really appreciate it! I absolutely plan to share in the Showcase, even if it’s just the early scaffolding of the project. I’ve spent the past month deep in research, testing different tools, hitting plenty of roadblocks (mostly due to my own learning curve), and starting over more than once. But now that I’ve landed on Directus, things are finally clicking into place
